Breaking News: Fatal Car Crash – Car Vs. Pickup Truck Collision In Modesto, California

This situation is still developing and most details regarding the crash have not yet been released to the media and the public.

At this point here is what we know for sure: At around 12:50 am two vehicles, a pickup truck and a car collided in the intersection of McHenry Ave. and Sylvan Ave. in Modesto, California.

We have been able to confirm that one person has been killed as a result of the crash. We do not have any word on how many others are injured and what their conditions are.

We do not have any information yet on the cause of the accident.

We expect a press release from the Modesto Police Department will be released later today with further details regarding the crash.

We will update you in the written description section of the video when more information is released.

Update: MPD Press Release: “On Thursday June 5th, 2014 at approximately 12:49 AM a four door sedan vehicle was traveling southbound on McHenry Avenue approaching the intersection of Sylvan Avenue. This vehicle collided with a pickup truck traveling westbound on Sylvan Ave that was also in the intersection. The truck rolled over and came to rest on its roof. The sedan collided with several signal and light poles located on the southwest side of the intersection.

The sole female occupant of the sedan was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision. The two male occupants in the truck were able crawl out of the truck and sustained only complaint of pain injuries.

The sedan involved in the collision was a 2000 Ford Taurus. The truck was a 2005 four door Chevrolet Silverado. The name of the deceased female driver is being withheld until the next of kin has been notified. The driver of the pickup truck has been identified as Tyler Johnson who is an 18 year old Modesto Resident.

At this time, there are no indicators that alcoholic beverage or drug intoxication played a role in the collision.

No fault or cause to this collision has been determined yet. As a standard procedure, a comprehensive collision investigation has begun and is in the early stages of the process. Witness statements and physical evidence at the scene will be evaluated before any collision factor or cause will be determined.
