here’s my excuse: Let professional drivers drive these babies :)

Anthony Barbary says:

20 years from now, this will become the norm. Lot’s of red tape obviously
but the market is available now. We have an abundance of millionaires who
like toys as such and they will purchase it.

YzYrCmnSns says:

You post this in May 2014 and the documentary is nothing more than a bunch
of drawings and computer animations, because that’s all there is at this
point, and you think it was going to be ready by early 2015. So …
Prototypes built, tested, tweaked, fixed, retested, repeat again. Then all
the government red tape with variuos agencies, regulations, safety testing,
approvals, and all other government B.S. finished. Then creating
relationships with and contracts signed with parts and material suppliers.
Investers and financial funding secured, factories built, all the special
machines and equipment needed for full scale production invented,
engineered, created, built and ready. Then the employes hired from
engineers, and mechanics, to business and financial experts, down to to the
assembly line workers on the floor. Then testing the first models off the
line, tweaking, retesting, tweaking again. Then going into full scale
production. Of course they would have had to have dealer networks and
advertising set up by this time. All of that between May, 2014 and early
2015. Wow!

Seriously, get an education before posting what’s no more than fanciful
tales.

Glory Love Shalom says:

And just how far can it go??

Happy Fox says:

Sure they’ll aprove a plane than runs solely on computers – and when it
hangs or “your updates are ready installed and your computer will reboot in
10-9-8….” you just pull the handle and parachute down to land automaticly
where exactly? are they supposed to fly over exclusively uninhabited areas?
Great concept and good to be optimistic, but hey, this is totally blue eyed
thinking in a country with airspace restrictions like US. Maybe a few
decades forward things will change, but it ain’t gonna be anytime soon. Do
they even know the restrictions they put on even military testing of fully
automated or remote controlled planes in these days? they’re usually
grounded exept in testing areas.

Jim Hiatt says:

there’s nothing “efficient” about that flying menace ! a sub mediocre
version of a helicopter . there are way too many reasons for my rejection
of such technical aberration .

American only says:

I don’t believe we could ever see a flying car beyond a handful. With the
drone problems we are seeing now. No the sky would be dropping people on
houses.

TheGuyWithTheHat says:

Getting your Laptop or desk top hacked is one thing, but getting a self
driving car or a self driving aircraft hacked is death.

Daniel Grynvald says:

?

Amphictyon1 says:

Reminds me of the flying cars depicted for the year 2017 in the old
Harrison Ford movie ‘Blade Runner’. Flying car entrepreneurs and SciFi
writers are the same species except the former subspecies burns gullible
investors for millions of dollars while the latter just writes harmless
fantasy.
